NJDTE Presents "i Balli di Primavera!"

NJDTE Presents "i Balli di Primavera!"(UNION, NJ) -- New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE) continues its 45th anniversary celebration with this year’s spring repertory performance, “i Balli di Primavera!” The acclaimed pre-professional company will perform three world premieres by renowned choreographers Elizabeth Roxas, Kate Skarpetowska, and Nancy Turano, now in her 20th season as NJDTE Artistic Director. The production features 65 talented young dancers ages 7 through 18 from across New Jersey.
 
Repertory favorites by choreographers Sidra Bell, Robert Garland, Bradley Shelver, Belinda McGuire, and NJDTE alumnus Samuel Asher Kunzman complete the mixed bill program of ballet, modern and contemporary works. The Ensemble will appear at Wilkins Theatre at Kean University, 1000 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ for one performance only on Sunday, April 19 at 3pm.

ABOUT NJDTE:
Founded in 1969 under the direction of acclaimed ballet master Alfredo Corvino and led by Turano since 1994, Ensemble dancers are offered the highest caliber pre-professional curriculum. Throughout the year, classes in ballet, modern and contemporary dance are taught by faculty from prominent companies and schools, including the Paris Opera Ballet, Limón Dance Company, Twyla Tharp, Lar Lubovitch and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, among others. The Ensemble annually premieres new works and maintains a diverse repertory by renowned choreographers, including David Parsons, Robert Battle, Sidra Bell, Loni Landon, Andrea Miller and Turano. In 2010, NJDTE won the Dancin’ Downtown at the Joyce Choreography Award. Now in its 45th anniversary season, the Ensemble will open its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in downtown Summit this summer.
