Last call for all high school aged film makers. The Theater Project, an award-winning, professional theater in Maplewood, NJ, is in the final stages of reviewing entrants for the second annual Young Filmmakers Competition which has a deadline of April 1st, 2015. The contest, open to children between the ages of 13 to 18 in the New Jersey-New York area, has been accepting entrants since January 1st, 2015. The winning filmmaker will be announced in May and will receive a $300 Judge’s Prize for original film.
Last year’s winner was Ethan Lynch of Morris County School of Technology in Randolph, NJ. Finalists included Gabriella Grinwald-Alves from Toms River; Lindsay Morrison and John Cassidy both from Mendham.
"The Theater Project has a mission of introducing young people to the arts. We view this as our opportunity to recognize and encourage the film makers of the future," said Mark A. Spina, artistic director. "This year we expect that the competition will be larger in scale, and just as creative as last year".
