(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- New York City-based reggae band, New Kingston is heading to Asbury Park, New Jersey to continue a national tour supporting Kingston City, their latest full-length album released on Easy Star Records. The fast-rising, family group features three brothers (Stephen, Courtney Jr., and Tahir) accompanied by their father, Courtney Sr., who plays bass. The new record includes 12 songs and guest appearances by members of Tribal Seeds, Hawaiian singer-songwriter Kimie Miner, Sister Carol, The Wailing Souls, and the late, great reggae legend Sugar Minott. Various national media outlets have praised the new album for its uniqueness and originality.
The band will perform at The Saint in Asbury Park (601 Main Street) on Wednesday, April 15. Admission is $15 and doors open at 7pm.
“Kingston City is a genuine body of work that displays an incredible vocal range, candid lyrics and impressive instrumentals. It gives the listener the sort of meaningful connection and escape that every piece of music should provide.” – Top Shelf Reggae
“New Kingston —the reggaesisting of brothers Tahir, Steve and Courtney Panton, Jr.— have gone international, touring the world several times over… and establishing themselves as a selfcontained unit with their own original material.” – LargeUp
The group continues to bring an eclectic mix of Jamaican roots and New York City vibes to the ever evolving genre of reggae in a U.S. scene. New Kingston is currently set to perform 16 shows across the U.S. this spring.
