James Maddock Returns To The Acoustic Cafe

originally published: 01/28/2015
(PARK RIDGE, NJ) -- Award winning British singer/songwriter James Maddock returns with his trio to the Acoustic Café on Saturday, February 21st at 8pm, showcasing songs from his critically acclaimed CD, Another Life and from his forthcoming new release, Green. Special guest Michaela McClain will open the show and Joltin' Joe Pszonek from WMSU Radio in Montclair will be the guest emcee.

The charm of James Maddock, to somehow access all that is timeless and make an immediate and lasting connection, is the product of years of honing his craft. His music sounds and feels instantly classic. After fronting the band Wood, whose hit song, "Stay You" was included in the first Dawson's Creek compilation, Maddock moved from England to NYC. His album, 'Sunrise On Avenue C' won the NY Music Award for Best Americana Album and Best Vocal performance, while the follow-up, 'Wake Up And Dream' ranked among the top albums of 2011 in WFUV's Listener Poll. He recently performed with Bruce Springsteen at the Paramount Theatre for the Light of Day show in Asbury Park with Dave Immergluck of Counting Crows, Spin Doctors & Willie Nile, among many others, and is a resident artist at Rockwood Music Hall. He has steadily gained traction here in the Northeast and overseas, with his infectious live performances and accessibility to his fans.

According to radio legend Vin Scelsa, Maddock's "heartbreakingly beautiful and exquisitely crafted music touches the soul." For more information visit www.jamesmaddock.net

The Acoustic Cafe is located at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, 25 Fremont Avenue in Park Ridge, NJ. Tickets are $25. Proceeds will benefit the OLM St Vincent’s Haiti Scholarship program. Visit www.cafeacoustic.org or call 201-573-0718 for more information.
