originally published: 12/18/2014 (Morristown, NJ)— The Morris Museum is proud to present Brick by Brick, an invitational exhibition of exceptional artwork created out of LEGO(c) building blocks. The show will be on view in Morristown through March 15, 2015.

Brick by Brick features innovative works created by LEGO artists, architects, and engineers who use LEGO brand building blocks to create incredible art and architecture. Featured artists include Mike Doyle, Blake Foster, David Haliski, and Jonathan Lopes, among others. Visitors will be amazed by awesome sculptures of famous buildings, favorite snacks, and memorable masterpieces. The exhibition also includes a large-scale working LEGO model train with live demonstrations every Saturday at 1:30pm. Hands-on stations will invite visitors to design their own minifigure and to "write" their name on a LEGO wall. Kids of all ages are sure to be delighted in this playful display of more than twenty-five original works.

Beautiful LEGO 2: Lecture and Book Signing with Mike Doyle
Saturday, January 17, 1:30pm
Hear Mike Doyle, internationally-acclaimed LEGO brick artist and author of Beautiful LEGO, discuss "LEGO as an Art Medium" and learn how he creates art with tiny plastic bricks. After the talk, Doyle will sign copies of his new book, Beautiful LEGO 2, which will be available for sale.

Builders Play Day

Children will enjoy a day of play and creativity as they explore a variety of building materials from LEGO to KEVA® Planks to ShapeScapes(r) in the new Family Discovery Center and throughout the Museum.

Micro Cityscape Building Program
Saturday, January 24, 11:00am
LEGO artist Mike Doyle will lead this fun building program to create a Micro Cityscape that will remain on display at the Morris Museum. In addition to the building activity, participants will get a sheet with building resources, links and other fun information on building with LEGO. Appropriate for children 1st grade and older. About the Morris Museum
Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, community-based arts and cultural institution which serves the public through high caliber exhibitions in the arts, sciences and humanities.
