Lakehouse Music Academy is a progressive music school, featuring group performance and individual lessons. Group performance programs include Get Started Program (ages 6+), Core Program (ages 11-18) and Night Sessions (adults only).
Get Started Program offers a two-hour weekly group rehearsal where beginners have the opportunity to experience the flavor of group lessons in a fun and low-pressure musical environment, as well as a 30 minute private lesson of music theory and technique that benefits from a one-on-one setting. Core Program trains students to learn all of the necessary skills in their 45 minute private one-on-one lesson, and then a group rehearsal that prepares them for the performance. This gives students the opportunity to make music as part of a group using a song/composition based learning method. Night Sessions is for beginner, intermediate and advanced adults. Students can participate in either the Electric or Acoustic (or both) and are for whoever has wanted to perform music with other musicians in a band setting.
The Academy has a mission to help every student regardless of age or skill level. Every program includes individual and group lessons, and culminates with the "Big Gig" performance. "Music is a universal language," says Albie Monterrosa, Music Director of the Academy. "It's incredible to see students of all backgrounds come together, especially the young the kids, to work together as a team and prepare a great show."
The "Big Gig" is a free show that features students from the Get Started, Core, and Night Sessions Programs who have been learning and rehearsing some of their favorite songs for this incredible occasion! The event starts at 12 noon and will continue rocking into the evening. Those in attendance will witness real life music education as they support their children, siblings, parents and friend's in their musical endeavors.
Lakehouse Music Academy plans to keep the momentum going. They already have two new upcoming programs scheduled this fall, The Broadway Intensive Program and the LHMA Songwriting Series, which will explore musical theatre and the art of songwriting, respectively. Additionally, the Get Started, Core and Night Sessions Programs will start again first week in October.
